Birth of Vaginal Rejuvenation

Righter is tighter

Philippines   | February 4, 2015

According to the article by Dr. Red Alinsod of South Coast Urogynecology, on January 16, 2006 (9 years ago) it all started in southern California.  And it started with baby boomers.

Pelvic reconstruction

The visible signs were that of pelvic prolapse:   pelvic bulge,  constant feeling of constipation, pelvic pressure and feeling of fullness and worsening incontinence.  Modern medical devices are being offered by medical companies to treat cystocele (fallen bladder) enterocele (fallen small bowel) and rectocelle (fallen rectum)   For this pelvic reconstruction, minimally invasive surgical procedures can be used to minimize pain, bleeding, discomfort and hospita
l stay.

Slings and propylene mesh were the advanced materials used for this procedure.

Pelvic reconstruction was the specialty of Dr. Red.

Vaginaplasty

On the other hand, the fastest growing segment of female health is vaginal rejuvenation.  THe other terms include vaginaplasty,   This involves tightening of the vaginal canal which has widened due to stretching from birth trauma, tissue stretching,  and improper  surgical healing.  Vaginaplasty involves the modification of posterior repair of perianum (space between anus and vagina) And this is often requested  as pelvic repair is undertaken.

Gynecologists and urogynecologists have the most training (as Dra Grace is) in handling this operation

Labiaplasty

This is the procedure where the inner lips (labia minora) is sculpted to look more pleasing.  The usual reason for requesting this is the unusual, irregular large, uneven, and unappealing labia minora.  Many complain of pain, irritation, pullling and rubbing when wearing tight clothing, horseback riding, sports, and sex.  They complain of inabilty. to wear swimsuits and possible embarrassment.

The procedure involves removal of excess tissue, when resurfaced  shrunk with CO2 laser or injected with fat to make appealing.

Labiaplasty is called vaginal facelift.

These procedures alone or in combination were fueled by the baby boomers who are now 60 who could not stand the idea of loose, or gaping vagina, discompfort, large sagging  unflattering labias.

Younger females too who want sleekier appearance of their genitals, and older women wanting repair of their genitals ravaged by age and childbirth has fueled this growth
